Here's an idea. Keep the catted-y and stick a 4" to 3" reducer on there backwards. That way you can put it on for emissions time and it will bolt up to the 4" I pipe.

Why is the muffler smashed up anyway?
I Noticed you have the dual mig welder from Harbor Freight that has provisions for gas. Did you use gas or flux core wire? I am guessing flux because I thought I remembered seeing some of the brown powder from the flux wire.

To make room for the sump in the gas tank. I was using a flux core wire.

Yeah it definitely doesn't have a high duty cycle but it works pretty good. I fire off some welds then give it a little time to cool while I do other stuff. Leaving the wire feed access door open seemed to help a little too.
