I'm putting down 336 RWHP with Mac headers, TSP lid, and a cutout. The Macs haven't been ported or anything either.

I understand that people think the 2.5" Y is a restriction but running an open exhaust on that 2.5" Y will flow PLENTY of power IMHO. For me specifically though, I got the MACs because I like their fitment alot better than the LT's. Granted, I may give up MAYBE 5HP but I can live with that so I don't scrape on pebbles in the road.

HAHA...

Default great replies

Thanks for all the replies guys. I had no idea that this thread would even get this much attention. I am very impressed with the numbers that some of you are making with MACs, which makes me want to keep them, but I am pretty much going to be maxing out the 346ci LS1. I am going to try to get as much out of this thing as I can so I think I am going to order up a set of either pacesetters or the edlebrock LT headers. A friend of mine is just putting a dyno in, maybe I could do some runs back to back with both headers, that would put most of the mid length vs. LT disscussion to bed. Thanks Again.

You really should get the LT's if you have a lot planned for the car. No doubt the MACs are not bad headers for what they are, but depending on what you will be running, you need something more flowing than those macs. Oh, one other thing, if you are worried about emissions or anything, stick with the macs because that's all out the window after you put LT's on.

Agreed, and I have Macs. If you've got big plans for your car- go long tubes.
