How to clean maf sensor ????

I just recently cleaned and oiled my K&N filter and its looks like there is alot of gung on the inside of the maf sensor, what i can use to clean it without messing it up

i used a q tip w/ rubbing alcohol and was very careful around the maf wires

You can buy contact cleaner from Radio Shack too. Spray the crap out of it, don't be afraid to use half the can. Let it air dry.

I wouldn't advise that method--like said above--use proper electrical cleaner which leaves 0% residue behind....brake cleaner is NOT 100% residue-free.

When you clean the K&N, only oil the side that points down when the filter is installed. The air passing through will pull the oil into the filter. If you oil the top (lid side), it's more likely to fly off and land in your MAF. I've been running my K&N for about 2.5 years with no problems.

PS - After you wash the filter out, leave it sitting ontop of the a/c condensing unit outside your house so that warm air will blow through it. It will be bone dry in about 10-15 minutes.

I normally use electrical contact cleaner. This is a newer MAf cleaning product by CRC industries:

I am going to check out local parts store for that. I used CRC brake cleaner. Good info Carbide

The CRC MAF cleaner works great. I used it and have not regrets. Cleaned all kinds of gunk off the sensor.

I used the QD Electric cleaner from AutoZone on mine it just sprayed it on and it cleaned all the gunk off. Car actually ran better after I cleaned it also lol which is always a plus
