Default Custom true duals setup

A buddy of mine that owns an exhaust shop quoted me a price of $500 for a true dual exhaust setup going under the axles and out the rear. He said that he would make an x pipe, then go into two bullet mufflers, and then under the axle, and out the rear. What do you guys think about having this done. I am getting rid of my tsp ory and slp loudmouth catback.

Sounds great (no pun intended).

ORY + LM = death by rasp. Choco will tell you ALLLLLLL about it.

PS - You could have asked this in the TD's sticky, that's why It was created and left OPEN. We kinda got tired of seeing 40 TD threads a day. It got really bad a while back and seems like it picked back up tonight.

You might understand the frustration if you've been around this joint for a while. I'm not even going into how many PM's I get every day (about true duals alone). I remember when I'd be suprised when I would get one, now I'm suprised when I don't get 2 at a time.

BTW your sig is going to get pwn3d when Craig sees it.

Sorry about the post. I have read the sticky before, and it just slipped my mind when I was making the new thread.

I didn't think it was that bad, considering the true dual with turn downs from texas speed is $409, and this was it is 100% guaranteed to fit the way it is designed to.

I see, this homey dont play that game
I did ask the guy at the shop about which bullets to go with, and he told me that all bullets are the same, they are all glass packs. Does it really matter which bullets go on the car?

Glasspacks in the traditional sense have a fiberglass packing, which blows out over time and they get louder. They can usually be found riding under 1973 chevy trucks with one of the Deliverance guys at the wheel and a banjo in the passenger seat.

Dynomax bullets use a steel packing that doesn't come out and sound much nicer IMHO.

Despite what DSRCAM said (no offense to him), $500 is a good price. That's generally what you'll pay for a good quality system of true duals under the axle and out back (with bullets).

Now just search around and find out what kind of bullets you want.

I wouldn't pay $500 for a hack job, but it's a steal if the shop knows what they're doing.

Just a different type of muffler. They are a chambered design, not quite as loud as bullets but pretty close. They are a very deep mean sounding muffler that is somewhat remniscent of old school big block cars. I have them and love them, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Bullets and Flowmaster 1-chambers are both very aggressive sounding.....Spiralflows or Twisters have a more refined tone, Borla and Magnaflow are the quietest but all sound awesome. I love the Sweet Thunder bark, but I would consider Flowmaster or Spiral Flows as well. Bullets aren't for me.

you missed the point of his post...that is a low price...he wouldn't get them if it was a shop that hasn't done them before...but if the shop knows what they are doing and have done it before, that's a damn good price.

i don't think the muffler shop is gaining much of anything at all on this deal
