Do you think there is any performance gain of taking the washer fluid res out? Do you think it would help get more coldier air to the FIPK?

Performance Gain: On a dyno maybe with a large fan

Seat of the Pants Feel: Not that I could tell

Definitely allows more air flow to filter, your removing a large obstruction.

I removed mine mainly for appearance reason, same reason why I removed on the AC crap, relocated the coils, etc, etc, etc. Main objective was to clean all the crap off the engine so the LS1 could actually be seen.

The support also forces air through the radiator. By taking it off, your car will run hotter. I wouldn't want my radiator flopping around in the wind. You need to seal it to get any kind of an advantage over just doing the free mod. What kind of weed are you guys smokin?

OK guys...last night I started hacking up the stock support. I cut it all out, the thin vertical piece and the big horizontal piece. Sanded it down, it actually turned out OK.

On installuniveristy they left that thin vertical piece. Was it a mistake to cut that out? I used one of my garage mottos...when in doubt , just chop it off.

EDIT...actually I think 2 mottos apply here...chop first, ask questions later. lol

On a side note, I also installed a ported TB at the same time, car definitely felt a little stronger.
