RGK the headers are not impossible to install but dont take the job lightly, I am currently doing it as we speak and it is F***in hard, this is the first F-body I have worked on, everything else has been a 96 stang GT, then a '90 GT, and most recently an '03 GT and all I gotta say is the LS1 is faster from the factory but the FORDs are a dream to work on compared to these cars, I've prob got about 18 hours of work in on this job so far and well I dont have much left but like camcams02 I am having trouble with the spark plugs, well the wires more specifically....I cant get the damn wire on the coil pack closest to the firewall, also I might mention I'm a pretty big guy, 6'1 250, so I have big hands and they cant get to place that smaller hands would have no problems gettin too, seriously my hands are so cut up I look like i got in a fight with edward scissor hands but basically all im saying is if you havent done somthing like a clutch install, dropped a tranny, or installed headers before etc. then I wouldnt do it unless you had a friend help you who has done it before, as far as the K-member I had no clearance issues with mine, and my driverside header did hit that stupid little tab but a little muscle got the header past it...no really big problems I ran across just I HATE THE SPARK PLUG WIRES and it is taking wayyyy to long, but hopefully I get it done tomorrow or ill seriously go crazy and just blow the damn car up

I don't know where you get your weed from, but the 4.6 Ford motors are harder to change headers on than an F-body. Most shops that specialize in both will charge around $300 for F-body and 94-03 4.6's close to $500. The DOHC takes up so much room where you are working that it is 5X harder.

orange peel there was no 94 and 95 4.6 they were 5.0's and the 96-04's were 4.6 2V's and yes I did install headers on all three cars, shorty headers on all of them but the easiest to work on was the 1990 LX 5.0, and as far as the DOHC motors yah they take up alot of room but I've never had a cobra so I wouldnt know whay they are like to work on, the 32V and 16V motors are diff beasts...diff blocks, diff heads, dif intakes, the closest thing they have in commin is their displacement 281 cu. anyways all I was saying is GM practically put the damn motor in your lap pushed back in the engine bay so far you cant get to anything on the motor thats near the firewall....pain in the ***
