My thoughts on the FTRA
a functional ram air hood only adds air velocity to the open air filter. iow it helps.
Refer to page one for that request. However the thread should just stay open, it was fun.

Stock LS1's make over 300RWHp with the stock lids, does that mean they aren't a restriction too?
Go drive around some cones or something.

Hey 1337 sp34k.....Clearly you aren't a fluid dynamics major. From what you are saying it sounds like everyone should practically run open heads with no intake manifold and no exhuast manifold. Well, because clearly (again) you understand how flow works. But in another sense I guess all 95,000 people that have lids are more than stupid for running them. So you are saying that I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW A MOTOR WORKS. Because, CLEARLY (again) you understand flow rates and velocity.
I'm not here to lock the thread....just to make sure that you stay in the seatstaysup.com forums for all the turmoil you are trying to stir up.
P.S. We aren't talking about turning. Stay on the topic. Final Warning.

I like this guy already.
(in the most non-sexual way possible)
i would MUCH rather have a lid and FTRA on both non-ram air hood AND ram air hood style cars. here's why:
the FTRA/lid combination provides a direct airflow tunnel into your intake manifold, allows for cooler air from underneath the car and, at high speeds, forces the air directly into your intake and has a pressurizing effect.
the K&N/volant takes hotter air from the engine bay, has NO direct feed right into the intake manifold and performs no pressurization effect since the airbox isn't sealed.
the FTRA/lid combination is much more scientifically sound in all principles. you can boast your ram air hood + volant/K&N intake all you want, but in the end, it doesn't mean **** since you have no proof in anything you say. not only that, nearly everyone on this site goes with the air lid/CAI combination, especially for N2O setups. all you sound like is a guy pissed off that you wasted money on the wrong setup and now you feel the need to proclaim to the world ways to justify the wasted money you spent. i mean ****, that inferior setup costs MORE than a lid/CAI too
lol the "ram air myth" still adds to the efficiency of the engine. it's tested on www.installuniversity.com/
not only did it up the efficieny of their engine 1% (which boosts hp considerably), they got better gas mileage AND ran a better ET. there are numerous posts of praises of the FTRA system everywhere. they have swayed me into purchasing one soon, and you better bet your *** i'll be writing a review.
