Question Header Confusion! Please Help!

Which Headers are best or does it matter?

I want to bolt up a set of headers to optimize the flow from new intake, but can't decide on which ones. Pacesetters are cheap, Hookers look the exact same but cost $300 more, Kooks are supposedly the best buy why? Are the tuned headers from SLP worth the money? I plan on putting a dump on the Y-pipe and looking to build a 400hp daily driver not a race car. Any and all help would be appreciated!

just go with pacesetter if your not looking for stainless....

all headers vary from 1~10rwhp difference from each other

supposeably the the QTP HVMC headers are the best flowing (yet expensive ) out there right now

I'd say stainless steel headers are the best. (Kooks, QTP, SW)

get stainless. they will out last your car. if you get slp long tubes everyone gets to kick you in the *****! they have the absolute worst clearance ever! so go with kooks, or QTP.

QTP HVMC tops in quailty and performance. Get the race style version and get rid of your air/egr crap.

I purchased the air emissions compliant QTP headers for my '02 bird. My passenger’s side header appears to be top notch quality. The driver's side looks like the resident drunk/crack ***** made it. The HVMC was dented twice near the merge collector which caused the aft end of the HVMC to be severely egged shaped. I took pictures of this and sent it to QTP and the response was : “It appears to be as it should be". On closer inspection the air fitting wasn't drilled thru the primary. I had to take a pencil grinder to remove a large piece of welding slag or other debris that couldn't be drilled thru because it was so hard. I took care of that and drilled it out to size. I had major over-weld in the I.D. of all four primary tube collectors (at the header/engine interface) and had to grind it out.
Now the problem I have is the header interface flange wasn't milled all the way across and the far outside bolt "ears" are not flat with the mounting surface and I fear if it isn't milled flat that after awhile the flange will bend/warp and result in an exhaust leak. QTP seems to only stand behind their product if there is no problem.
I am a very unhappy customer, needless to say.
I have to say I don't believe I'll ever buy anything from QTP again.
