What do i torque the headers to?

Default What do i torque the headers to?
Have an exhaust leak on the driver side bank so i bought a pair of felpro gaskets to replace the paper gaskets that came with the hookers. Is there any specific torque limits to what the headers bolt up to the heads at? Any input will be appreciated ..... thanks.

out of ls1howto.com just did mine today

Exhaust Manifold Bolts (First Pass) 11 lb ft
Exhaust Manifold Bolts (Final Pass) 18 lb ft

Start from the middle and uniforming to the ends

Should have used stock gaskets. No leaks.

tq specs are for suckers when it comes to headers. I used my built in one.

Just get em good n tight and run with it, if it sounds leaky do a little more, your internal TQ settings should do the trick.

I don't like leaks so I go with 30ft/lbs and stock gaskets, no leaks .

Use a tq wrench or suffer the fate of fools....Helicoils or worse.
