the pulley puller you can rent at autozone/advanced will work fine just make sure you get the right one, Their really isnt a need to switch to a 160 thermo b/c all you are doing with a pulley is making it easier for the engine to run

best thing i can say is go slow. deniately get a new crank bolt and the threaded rod to instal it, i used a longer bolt and saw that the rob would defintaely be the better tool to use. i had great luck heating the new dampener when i went to put it on. slid on like budda. i got my belts from texas speed. pretty happy with results, you should be able to feel it a little. yeah i also dont see you needed a lower stat. besides are cars runn best at about 190-200. and if you didnt get the fans reprogramed it wouldnt do any good.

crank bolt specs are 16mmx2.0 thread. and you will need it to be like 150mm or so. as far as puller i used my buddys. the 3 jaw at autozone should work.

well, i talked to SLP about heating up the UD puller so i can slide it in, they brought up a good point. there is rubber in there and heat from the stove would mess with the balance of it. all in all, i rented the puller form autozone, got the car in the air and took a look at what i was getting into... i dont feel confident doing this mod, it looks like i will need to pull the radiator and disconnect some other stuff for clearance. im going to hold off on this mod for alittle

i didnt disconect anything. but the puller your renting could be longer. i agree with the rubber in the ballancer, i took a propane torch to the inside of it to try and concetrate the heat only where i needed it. just rotated the pulley and kept the torch lightly on it heating it real slow. you can do it without heating it its just easier when the dampener has some heat on it.
