no need to reuse them, makes pulling the wires off the next time easier. The stock boots are a cheesy material, feel like rubber not silicone. The MSDs can withstand much higher heat, thus they don't need the shields. I just recently went with the MSD wires, and didn't reuse the shields, and have had no problems yet. Neither have any of my buddies that run MSD's.

I have since removed them..they hold more heat than needs reflecting with MSD Wires..which boots are some of the best/if not the best, on the market.

I have MSD wires. Took them off because I couldn't get the wires in all the way. Had the springs all F@#k up. So after heads and cam they stayed off and trashed just like the OG heads and LS1 intake.

I have LT's and MSD wires. They are not even close to the primaries. Not necessary at all for me.

i have MSD and i didnt use them either. You can bend the wires a little anyway so no touching the headers or anything

I had been using them, just did the plugs a day ago and left them off. No need for them really but I was liking the extra protection, just didnt see the sense in it anymore and you can bend the boot better without them on there

You shouldn't need to reuse them. I've been running MSD wires for 5000 miles without the shields and I haven't had any problems at all.

I have Magnecor and used them. It's not going to hurt them and might even prolong the boot life. Time will tell.
