This was from the mod lounge concerning these headers. I don't want to have to start trashing all the threads about them.

Prices/links/vendor names should not be posted. If someone can't figure out how to find ebay headers without a link, they need to off themselves.

Ok you closed then other one. I'm looking for a discusion on the material used and nothing more. It sounds like a bargain but if 321 doesnt weld that good then there are going to be some possible issues. I think that merits a discussion. Which is the better material for this particular use? 304 or 321. I understand the business aspect and the sponsors here, this might be the argument to use to help them.

From what i have researched about 321 stainless steel, this is the same steel that some aircraft exhaust is made from. i read somewhere that it doesn't weld good however anther type of steel (347welding rod) is used to weld it and doesn't effect strengh or integrity of the weld. anyone know about the welds of the xs headers?

Well we put my XS lt's on today. 1st off, the TSP Y pipe will not work with these headers at all. My shop is done for tonight and gonna have to get some pipes tomorrow and make me a custom Y tomorrow. We had no issues getting the headers on. Pass. side slid right in. Jacked up the motor a little and used a pry bar to move the motor a lil to the right for the drivers side and it went right in too. The drivers side collector sits pretty damn close to the floor board, not to crazy about that. We did not hack off the casting block on the engine block. There's little to no clearance between the drivers side header and the k member so the k member will need to be clearanced a little. Not a big deal but the Y pipe issue sucks. I guess will get it taken care of tomorrow.

there's a tab that extends out from the block (was used for the assembly line mounting, has no purpose) i had to cut it off... so has a lot of other people with all brands of LT's
For me it was the complete opposite....the drivers side was a breeze, I had to grind like a millimeter off that tab and I was able to muscle the header up there....now the passenger side, I prob cursed more in that one day than in my whole life, but I eventually got everything to go together

What they are saying is that 321 is harder to use as a rod because of it's titanium content. If th manufaturer used it as a rod than it just means that it would be harder to weld with and possibly not as strong a weld. I highly doubt that they used 321 for a rod though. That would just make manufacturing them a bitch. They probably used a 347 or something.

Ha! I know about the Y pipe first hand, I shouldnt have even wasted my money on this TSP one and had my guy custom make me the whole thing it would have been cheaper. He only used the Y part of the TSP ORY. So much for the guy on here who said the TSP ORY would fit, I should have known I wouldnt be able to trust what he said without some pics. Whats wrong with your Y pipe? Does it hit the floorboard on the drivers side because thats what mine did? The driver side collector on mine also seemed like it was very close to the floorboard but the way my exhaust guy did the Y pipe there is only the slightest vibration under WOT in 1st gear. I should have listened to the other guys on here and just bought the damn poly motor mounts. I just ordered a set now, it should be fun putting them in with the headers in the car already

Well this begs the question why are these so cheap? They look like hooker knock offs I think.

Well god damn it I have a TSP Y aswell. Guess Ima have to have someone modify it aswell. There has been some word that this company will be making a Ypipe specifically for these headers some time soon. I dont know if that is still going on but that would certainly be nice.

I doubt it because the headers look totally different. The ebay ones are almost identical to hookers and the TSP ORY is supposed to fit hookers and pacesetter but it didnt fit the ebay ones.

I dont know about them going in better but they do have Y pipes to fit them. This company is supposed to start making a Y pipe soon. I would get these over the pacesetters, theyre freaking stainless steel. Might want to wait for there Y pipe to come out or call an exhaust shop and figure out how much it would cost for them to fab one up.
