Default How much $$ are the coolant pipes for the LS6 intake conversion

I'm buying a used one in a few days and the guy wants $20 for the pipes for the LS1/LS6 conversion

Also anyone know where to get some EGR blockoff plates?

50 bucks from the dealer for the pipe and plugs

you can pick up an EGR blockoff plate from Speed Inc.

search for #7 piston leaning. Someone was discussing about LS6 intake equipped LS1s were leaning on the back cylinders because of the coolant pipes set up. I can't tell you its corelation to each other but something to think about changing the coolant pipes.

What would changing the coolant pipes have to do w/ leaning out? Pretty sure it is because the amount of air/fuel for the lean condition, not coolant? Mike

If that was the case it would be ALL cylinders leaning not just the rear two.

Meh?!, the lean condition comes from to much Air being drawn into #7. This partly due to the design of the LS6 intake, but i think the main cause is the fact that people add an LS6 intake and don't tune the computer for it. ANY time you add something that will change the Air:Fuel you should get a tune. The computer can only account for so much.

$30 for the pipes
$50 for the block off plates.

Sponsors should have both.

Like I said coolant has absolutely nothing to do with a lean or rich condition

true...but by plugging the rear coolant lines, the coolant doesn't circulate as well back there causing greater heat on #7 & 8 - don't ask me why 7 lets go before 8 because i don't know

the heat helps make it just a little bit worse

What I did was stick a second coolant crossover pipe on the rear.

I bought them all from a dealer and with my discount I payed just a little over 20.00. 20.00 dollars for that setup is a good price, take it.

Well I'm with the computer needing to be tuned. If #7 was going to lean out wouldn't all the guys with those coolant lines like that have problems on EVERY LS1 GM made with them. They make those lines to make cars with LS1 and LS6 intake i.e. 00+, not so we have a part to buy when we upgrade our cars.
