Default ~Hooker or Magnaflow~

Ok I have narrowed it down between these 2 catbacks...how do these sound with cams? Ive listened to all the clips on ls1sounds but want personal experiences. Any drone? if so what RPMs? are they quiet? Loud? or just right? easy to talk to passengers? also were there noticable power gains? any rasp at WOT?

i have the magnaflow catback right now. it is quiet. but it sounds smooth. i did notice a nice performance difference. for awhile i was running just the slp lid and stock catback. then put the magnaflow catback on, and it gave me a nice performance difference.

I had the Hooker catback and the inside of the muffler fell apart; i've seen a few instances of this case.

The magnaflow is a bit louder and much better quality IMO. similar notes with both of them.

the spintech muffler has a nice aggressive sound-the magnaflow catback is all stainless and is the best deal.

I've got the magnaflow catback with a cam, longtubes, and ORY. It's loud at idle and WOT. At cruising speeds it's pretty quiet and easy to talk to passengers. No drone. Ocassional rasp, nothing bad though. It's the least raspy set-up I've had so far on this car.

Magnaflow is superior to hooker as far as catbacks IMO....Personally I like the quiet low rumble of the magnaflow. If u want loud install a cutout and have best of both worlds Cheers

Yep, the Magnaflow is for a good "sleeper" like effect. If you want louder, just as cheap, and still stainless, then the LM II is a good alternative.

yo i have a cam, longtubes, no cats, and a magnaflow

at warm idle it sounds mean as hell but not to crazy. it cruising speeds in 6th gear its nice and quite...keep the boys in blue away and can actually hear yourself think or talk. but once you get more then a 1/4 on the gas all hell breaks loose and and sounds like a dragster...it sounds like an open pipe...i really love my magnaflow

I like the Hooker better than the Magnaflow. Does about the same as described above. I cannot explain how happy I am with the sound.
