Default How to identify an LS6 intake?

I have a '99 C5, and while troubleshooting the PCV system, I noticed the former owner installed a Z06 lifter valley cover. This makes me wonder if it has an LS6 intake as well. I know you can distinguish between an LS1 and an LS6 intake by looking on the ribbing on the bottom side of them, but if there any way to tell them apart with the intake still on the motor?

Sorry for the newb question but I couldn't find the answer in a search. Thanks.

They look almost identical except for the bottom.

Yup, they are flat and the LS1 is not.

Actually, to the original poster check and see if the 2 coolant plugs on the front have a pipe going under the manifold to the rear. I am not sure if you will be able to see this on the vette. If they are not and just connected to eachother I'd say you have a LS6 manifold.

Yours might be in a different spot, but mine's stamped on the driver's side - between #3 and #5 - on top.

Looks like GM put the part number on the passanger side on Vettes. The part number is 12556333, which is in fact an LS1 intake. I'm kinda glad, b/c that means there's now more power to be had. Thanks for the quick responses.
