Mass produced full length dual exhaust
I think a true dual kit, 3" to the X and then dual 2.5's both down the passenger side would be the best bet. You can just barely fit the dual 2.5s through the stock uppper PHB, although if you could fab up an inexpensive replacement piece, that would be even better. Offer your choice of mufflers (bullets, spiral flows, sweet thunders) and youd have a hot selling item.
Actually, how about a backward Y pipe that mates to an existing Y pipe (you may have to shorten the collector). Now youve got an X pipe and youre already in line to shoot right down the pass side of the driveshaft tunnel. Go up and over the axle and split back to each side through the mufflers of your choice. Wouldnt be too expensive, and would offer a true dual conversion for those that already have Y pipes.
3x3; I'd swap my LM for that, but I'd have to (yuk) find some mufflers for it... I've had the LM so long, that I don't know if could get used to mufflers again. ...maybe just straight pipes to 3" slash tips
I dont see anyone in this thread so far that can make use of a dual 3"X3" set up. It looks like everyone thinks the bigger is better rule applys to exhaust, the 2.5 out the back will support the needs of all but the most radical set up. Im making 570 to the ground and the dual 3" to 2.5 would be more than enough to support my needs, I would acually expect to lose a little low end power. I am interested more for the sound than any extra power I might gain.
I vote for the 3" to 2.5 set up, and yes I would be a buyer if its nicely done.

3" and 2.5" over the axel for clearance issues. however, i'd NEVER buy an X-pipe true dual system. H-pipe all the way. there's no point in an X-pipe IMO. it makes less average power across the entire curve and doesn't sound nearly as good, not to mention drones worse. most of the guys with X-pipes probably can't even give a reason why they went with an X-pipe other than most of the people with TD setups have it. that is NOT a good reason.
where'd you get your info^ i thought x pipes were better for power and sound production...but im only half right acourding to this.

What to look for: Your only actual viable option is an X pipe or H pipe. Which is better will always be debated. Most people go with an X pipe, in a nutshell an X-pipe will net you more power and torque and an H-pipe will have a slightly better sound. Both are great, so choose what you like, either is better then a traditional Y setup. Where duals shine is power under the curve.

take that sticky with a grain of salt. 9 out of 10 people on this site with true duals have an X-pipe. what do you think is going to get recommended more and praised more? "the best exhaust is the one you have," remember that. very few are honest and actually research this stuff. most just jump on the bandwagon and get whatever everyone else has. look at the new flowmaster single chamber fad. a few months ago, a handful of people on this site had them and most people didn't even know what they were. now everyone wants single chambers. take it all with a grain of salt.
