Default question regarding bump stop and swapping shaft

So my buddy gave me his old tb off his firebird and I sent it off to be ported and whatnot. I didn't realize that the tb shaft was different with different years. So, I read that I can just swap the shaft from my tb to the ported one and it should be fine. My question though, will the degree the tb plate opens change with the different shaft in it? I understand that if the plate opens more than 90* I'll get an SES light.

If that sounds confusing let me know and I'll try and explain it better.

There may be some difference in the stop-tang
position on the shaft but should not be much.
Set the bumpstop by measuring the physical blade
position (dead center) and then adjust the TPS
position if need be to get the electrical result you
want.

If you have to, you can pad the bump stop back
up to prevent overtravel.
