Default LS6 Intake gains?

I have a 1998 LS1 SS M6.

My mods are SLP lid and borla catback.

I'm fixing to pick up some headers to complete my exhaust system.

My question is.... is there gains on a 98 ls1 by switching out the ls1 intake to the ls6 intake.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, there will be a gain; it will be about 5-10 rwhp. trust me, it most likely won't be more than that!

Yeah 10 rwhp is about the normal gain for a stock/bolt-on car. It's still a worth while upgrade IMO because aside from the 10 ponies you get now, there can be bigger gains down the road if you ever decide to get a nice heads/cam package.

New ones go for $450 and you can usually find a used one for $350.

It varies from car to car. 10 probably being about the average. The guys from ls1howto said they got 24 hp from it. I dont see how, but hey, if thats what they say.

I've done lid, headers/ory, ls6 intake and my car put down 353/361.

Dont mean to hijack this thread ,but would you gain more than 10hp if you had a cam(stock heads) in the mix?
