Talking I Need Some Advice ASAP.

I have a 2002 Pontiac TA. V8.
I have a few mods.
One of the mods is a Magnaflow muffler.
It sounds much better than the stock one, Ill tell you that.
However I want it to sound a little louder without spending alot of money.
I dont think I can afford a whole catback, Ive looked in the Summit catalogue and even their prices are a little too much for me.
Should I just have the cats taken off?
Anyones advice would be appreciated.
I will check the forum frequently.

Look in the classified section for a used loudmouth maybe. I wouldn't mess with the cats myself.

if you add some Long Tube Headers and an Off-Road Y-Pipe, this is how it will sound:

same setup I have, I love it.

I did listen to that video tape.
Im am thinking about saving up some money for a Magnaflow or maybe another brand catback.
If I cant find anything that is in my price range I will try the long tubes.
Ill keep checking this thread.

If he can't afford a cat-back, I doubt he could afford headers.

No, don't go messing with the cats for now..

I think what you might want to look into is an electric cut-out that you can open when you want loud, and close when you want it quieter.

Electric cutout, read the sticky. This will give you the best of both worlds.

Jeez!
Did you know how long it took me to find my own thread?
It took me almost a half an hour before I ever thought to use the search button.
I originaly posted this under the 2002 Pontiac Firebird thread
Anyway, Blue02Formula you mentioned HE.
The car is mine and I do not share it with anyone.
I did find a catback that I can afford by Flowmaster.
What do you all think?

If you didn't like the magnaflow I don't think you'll be happy with the flowmaster eighter. Check out the Texas Speed and Performance rumbler catback. It sounds just like the loud mouth (had both now), but its alot cheaper. Got mine on sale for 200 w/o tips shipped. I think you would be very happy with a resonator/glasspack style system.

Now what exactly is a cutout?
Does that mean removing the cats?

No, it's not removing the cats. It allows the exhaust flow to exit before it reaches the muffler. Pretty much the cheapest mod you can do to make your car louder... but if you're looking for a nice, refined tone - it won't be found here:

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...vid=3&pcid=101

also, you may want to read over the exhaust guide for more info on what you want to accomplish:

get an electric cutout. you can close it when you wanna be quiet, open it partially for a little noise and open it fully to be incredibly loud, and it's all at the push of a button. don't mess with your cats. especially when an electric cutout can be had for under $200.
