I just got Pacesetter LT with catted Y pipe. The shop I called said they have fitment issues with Pacesetters, but not Kooks, which they are pushing. They said an EXTRA $125 for install because they have to do somd welding. On their website, they have a disclaimer saying anyone bringing their own parts will have a surcharge. He pushed the Kooks (ordered through them of course) saying better fitment and more power, like 12rwhp differance. Is he telling the truth, or am I being taken for a ride?

I was under the impression that Kooks and QTP make more power than other headers on the market. Power is the name of the game so if the money is there ,go with the Kooks. I originally ordered QTP's , but they were taking so damn long to get, so I just cancelled them and ordered pacesetters.

Re-read what you just wrote......You said he is pushing Kooks cause he is a distributer.....I have Pace Setters and had zero problems with "FITMENT"
This guy is feeding you a line man.....Hell call any other shop and ask, call TSP, and any other shop and ask if they have heard of fitment problems....

Truthfully I like hookers the best, but pacesetters work so much better with 4th gens. I have the LT's and the Y pipe and it's goes together very nicely. So I voted for pacesetters. Plus they still sound amazing.

Another vote for Pacesetter LTs!!!! I spent like 3 days straight reading all the posts on LTs and in the end Pacesetter wins, time and time again. I wanted to get Hookers intially but after reading about the fitment issues and their thinner flanges Pacesetter just makes more sense! I know a couple of people back in Florida runnin them and have not heard ANY complaints about them. Also and im sure its been mentioned but I'm pretty sure Pacesetters are based on hookers design. I know Jet-Hot's are(correct me if im wrong though)

my Pacesetters fit perfect, did not have to make a single modification, sound great with the ORY and 3" Flowmaster catback...so I voted for pacesetter.
oh and when you look under the car, you can't even see 'em, they fit so well

I have had hookers and pacesetters. I must say I liked the Pacesetter more all around. They were
A. Coated
B. Seems to be eaiser to install.
C. Were a better bargain for what you get.
I don't know why people get the ebay headers over the quality of the pacesetters. :cinfused:
Pacesetters all the way!
