Oh no not this again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many times in 1 month does it get posted?

Basically any of the setups can work and work well. They all have different characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.

On db level I guess they will be pretty similar, but the Y pipe probably has the ability to be loudest.

Sound is personal, some love the X and others the H. But a Y can sound good also.

And don't believe all this internet folk lore that Y's suck and ALL duals make more HP - it's total bollox!!!!

A good Y setup has the abilty to make very good power, and is often the preferred setup of race cars. The biggest limitation is tubing size. But many have made over 650rwhp using Y pipes. So unless you are going for a pretty extreme setup it won't really matter too much. Providing it's a good setup you actually have.

Generally speaking duals do sound better, H is more low old school sound whereas X is more modern racey sounding. Ultimatley it appears that an X has more potential for PEAK HP while the H makes more under the curve.

However results are very inconclusive, so at the end of the day as long as the setup is good I don't think it will matter either way.
