Default Why do stock GM (black) plug wires ohm out LOWER than GM red high performance ones?

And what does it mean...?

Stock GM black ones ohm out @ roughly 345 ohms
GM red high performance ones ohm out @ roughly 375 ohms

I thought lower resistance was better....?

Anyone>>??

Maybe try testing them with a functional tester, or with your ohm range set correctly? Most "performance" plug wires will test at 40-50 ohms...per foot.

Chances are they tested at 34.5 and 37.5, which is really not enough to make any kind of difference. There can be a 10 ohm(or more) variance between one foot lengths of the same kind of plug wire, so 3 ohms difference in half a foot is pretty good.

Just goes to show that the OEM plugwires are just as good as most of the aftermarket sets.

Lower is better. The GM red wires have been around a while and from what I remember always had more resistance than stock wires.
