Cheers. I just find it really annnoying as I have no choice but to run cats. But fabbing them into an ORY is a complete PITA and expensive.

Guess it's back to the Pacesetters then.

Yes. The tubes are welded in place. So are the merger collectors.

No, these do not have the AIR or EGR installed. Sorry for the lack of images at this time. You can view the Ti-TECH coated version at: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...petition.shtml

The header is complete 304-stainless with 1-3/4 primaries stepped to 1-7/8. The collector is a race style merge cone with a 3-1/3" slip-on design. The matching y-pipe is 3-1/2" at the collector and reduces to a 3" for chassis fitment.

So the merge is a slip-fit? Please tell me no.

That's pretty badass. I wonder how they compare to QTP's!

on slip fit merge's.

I've had a bit of quite awesome experience with my slip fit merge from edelbrock with the Ti-Tech headers . It leaked like there was no tomorrow and the only way to fix it was to weld inside and outside the merge to get it to seal. I would strongly urge no one buy a slip fit collector unless it is an all out race application in which they are actually needing to tune the length of the primaries/merge.

QTP is a nice piece as is our header. You would do well either way. As for the risk of leaking where the primaries and the merge collector meet, this is a possibility and I have had an experience with a customer who had a turbo car. We fixed him up with our fully fabricated header with the standard collector to alleviate this problem.

The #65703 header with the true merge collector is our best seller and you will find many satisfied LS1TECH members using these headers. The new #65701 is just a 304 stainless steel alternative.

The welded edelbrocks are certainly great, it's just the ones with slip fit merge's that not only I have had problems with but also others. Just getting the word out so people are aware of what applications they should and shouldn't be used for. Unless it's an all out race app, they should be buying the sets with the welded collectors. Regardless of that one issue, my edelbrock's do the damn job and do it well (not to mention for cheap). I'm certainly a fan, overall.

Thats BS.

Magnaflow makes some rather small cats the fit when cut done into the Edelbrock y-pipe with minimal issues. Ask me how I know? I just did a setup for a guy with them. The cats were ~200 and i did the labor for 50 bucks!! I didnt need any extra bends to make it work.

Thats pretty much a common practive when my customers order them. I grind the coating off. Weld the collectors to the headers and have yet to have them leak. 12 sets so far and still going strong.

I have dynatech's welded into my edelbrock ORY. They're small as sh*t and didn't take much fab work at all. Now as for getting this whole thing to tuck well enough on a 2" drop, that's a whole 'nother story.

So let me get this strait the New stainless headers Have no Egr or AIR provisions, and they are a slip on collector?

And #65703 has no egr and air but have a welded merge collector but.. No coating?

Now do you or are you going to offer fully welded stainless header. no slip fit collectors.

What I'm getting at is I'm upgrading headers this winter from my hooker Lt's to stepped ones. Right now I have powder coated ones but that doesn't last so I would like an affordable stainless/Ceramic coated ones. Edelbrock seems to be #1 on my list. I want a race style header no provisions that makes the power maybe a little more than the hookers and that wont rust, and not have to weld any collectors on them. I do enough welding as it is.

I bought the painted ones, tacked the merge collectors, and sent them out for coating. LEAK FREE.
