You hook the shiftlight up to the tach wire coming from your PCM.

I can't remember exactly which one it is but if you go to installuniversity.com they have a really good write up on it. Basically you find the tach wire coming off your pcm, use a wiretap(blue plastic thing) to get a signal and then run that wire through the firewall and up to the shiftlight. Then just hook up your positive and ground to the shiftlight, set the light and go test it out. I love mine, no more watching the slow as tach and accidentally bumping the limiter.

Two different threads that will help you.

3 wire hookup. + , - , and Pin #10 right out of the lower (red) connector on the PCM. It's a white wire that will be tapped and go to the tach signal on your tach/shift light.

Since you have a 99 PCM, pin #10 will be the one you tap. It's a WHITE WIRE.

Yes. Harlan, Raptor, AutoMeter, Summit. Whatever you want. All will have a 3 wire hook up. Red +, Black - and Green = Tach lead. If you get a actual 3 3/8 to 5" tach, which I hope you don't, it will have a 4 wire hookup. It should be a white wire I believe for illumination.
