Default Distributor cap?

Does anyone make an aftermarket upgraded distibutor cap for an LS1. Does it even need one for any good reason? Mechanic is changing water pump and reccomended he would be in that same area, but he doesn't sell aftermarket. Any feedback on this would be appreciated. I don't know much about the distributor or engines for that matter.

LS1's do not use distributors, they use coil packs. Your mechanic is full of it, I would be careful with that....

Might as well replace your flux capacitor too since he'll be in that area anyhow.

Dont neglect the muffler bearings and blinker fluid.

Seriously, no distributor on the LS1. And dont bother changing the coild unless theres a problem, just incase he suggests that when he cant find the distributor...

Yeah, that place rocks... I wanted to lighten my gvw so I got a set of their cross-drilled brakes lines. They work like a champ!

Either your mechanic is totally clueless, or he's trying to screw you over.

Find a new mechanic, anyone can see the LS1 has no distributor by just taking a quick look at it.

He's gotta think it's an LT1 with the opti-spark distributor right behind the water pump. I've been asked many times if my car has a LT1.

Everyone doesn't know everything about cars. He's probably a good mechanic, just doesn't know all the differences between years.

Best idea so far. Learn to fix your own stuff. You have all those parts listed in your sig and probably didn't install any of it yourself. What ashame.
