Default Those of you with ASP pulleys?

What do you think i am pretty set on getting an asp friends i have talked to said that they are good pulley and i was just wondering what you guys think of yours? also i had a guy tell me that it is not good to buy a pulley that has the dampener built into it but i was looking at my stock pulley an the dampener on that thing sucks it doesnt even really have anything to it. is it actaully better for your engine to get and after market pulley?

I have had no issues from mine and its been on the car for over four years now. Now my SS only has 17xxx miles on it, but it does see Road Atlanta 2-3 times a year. Did it add any hp? Probibily a little. It all adds up in the end. If I bought one today, yes I would buy one with a dampener built in.

I bought mine from Thunder, so the belts came with it. But here is what they sent me.
Drive Rite Brand 760K6 5060760DR and 378K4 5040378DR

Hope this helps

I did just the crank pulley and never have noticed any signs it was there, other than a few more ponies. So all in all, no difference here. You are doing the right thing by searching, reading, and doing your homework. This has been a great web site for me and have saved me alot of money by doing things right the first time. Good luck in the future.

I personally went with the Powerbond only because it was cheaper, but now that it's all rusty looking, I kinda wish I had gone with the ASP. I think any of the ones available will be a great addition, but definitely don't expect to notice much of a difference. It also introduced a problem I didn't expect when I went to an aftermarket alternator (160 amp) - I have to idle my engine at 900 RPMs for it to charge properly now. At least I have the tuning software to do this, but I would have been pissed otherwise.

With my stock alternator, I didn't have to idle it up at all. For some reason, the cut in/out on my aftermarket alternator needed some more RPMs (although I think it could have been avoided if I had been a bit more proactive with it - at least now I know).

For those of you that put the underdrive pulleys on your cars, was there a noticable difference in how fast the motor revs up?

On my cappy it just stoped the belt squeal that a new tensioner and belt on the stock pulley wouldnt fix.

We did an ASP pully on a friend's LS2 402. He had some issues with belt slippage until he added the Katech tentioner pully.

That's why I went with the SLP (powerbond) Pully. I gained 12rwhp & 14rwtq.
