Bye Bye Lm Hello Magnaflow I just picked up my Ls1 from having the Magnaflow system fitted and I must I like 100% better than my SLP LM1.Now it sounds tame enough for the wife to drive and at WOT it has a real mean sound so needless to say I am stoked.
By the way being 3" system will I pick up any power over the LM 2.5" system?I have kooks 1 7/8s with 3" collecters and 3" ORY to go with that. I hope that gives you guys an idea on if I will pick up any power or not?

LM is 3" and while the Magnaflow is good it's proven to be a restriction on cammed, h/c setups. It will NOT flow as well as the LM. Just take a look at the mufflers, LM = straight thru, Magnalfow = not.
i dont know about that man, the magnaflow flow number are pretty high compared to most aftermarket mufflers. i do agree loudmouth will outflow the magnaflow, but the magnaflow will definitely have a more refined sound, cuz i had both on my h/c 02 z28. but i seriously doubt the magnaflow will inhibit airflow with a h/c car

Maybe a couple horsepower difference. Magnaflow mufflers are a straight through design. It's been dyno proven at some shops here in MD that the gains with a cutout over the Magnaflow exhaust are only about 5 hp so you tell me. Loudmouth may flow slightly better but only because it has no mufflers and hence loud as crap. The minute you start putting bullets, etc in the pipes to quiet it down you lose the scavaging effect of the exhaust and the flow numbers will drop.

magnaflows are a straight through design. thats why they are nice and quiet when you are driving and when you get on it, it gets so loud becuase it just goes straight through the muffler

I love this magnaflow its great.I think the problem with the Lm plus 3800 stall is that I have to give it some gas to get it going so it was to loud around the city but I must say it was great on stock manifolds and cats.I am going to get electric cut outs why not have 5hp?
I have Magnaflow with cutout & would recommend it to any1.....some days u wanna be loud, then some u wanna be not so loud.....besides u can't beat a stainless steel catback for under $400

I just put a magnaflow on my otherwise stcok Z, damn does it sound good. Not too loud but definetly better than stock. It screams at WOT and has a nice deep tone between 1000-3000. I would reccommend it to anyone.
I'm thinking of ditching the crappy Magnaflow for a LM to gain a few ponies. My car sounds mean as hell. You can not look directly through the magnaflow muffler, like the resinator on the LM, so I don't see how people are calling it a straight through design. ps. You don't even want to know about the back to back dyno runs I did with the magnaflow vs the SLP dual dual my car came with. If I did not hack the **** out of the old set up taking it off, I would have put it back on and thrown the Magnaflow in the trash.

If I replace my exhaust, I'm not sticking with the shitty Y-pipe setup, I'm going with Bassani True Duals.
