Custom Header Tube Size??

Custom Header Tube Size?? Gentlemen,
I’m going to need to build a set of headers for my car and need a few opinions on tube size. These will end up being rather short 20”-24” due to the packaging. It seems to be that a 1 5/8” tube may be better the 1 ¾” that the majority of folks seem to run on their LT’s. Any thoughts or hints on shorter length header design?

Here's the rundown:
346, JE pistons, TSP 228R cam, TSP LS6 Heads (milled 61 CC), LS6 Intake, DCR about 8.5,,,,,, I'm hoping for about 410-420 RWHP,,, with headers of some kind.
