Default Buying used headers

I found a decent deal on a set of used coated pacesetter LT's. The seller is asking $250 and says they have been on his car for 6 months. Does this seem like a decent deal? I've never bought used headers before and was wondering what I should look for. He told me they are still on the car and he would have to get someone to take them off for him. So if anyone can chime in here and let me know what to look for I'd appreciate it.

Nothing wrong with used parts, as long as they aren't beat to hell, I remember what it's like to be a broke kid trying to mod his car.
Check the headers for the coating flaking off and rust, dents and scrapes etc

im broke as **** too but ill tell you its not worth it, buy brand new black headers, sand them (or start car for 5 minutes) til the paint is gone and paint with high temp alabama chrome and they look like coated headers

I got my used super comp Hookers or 170 to my door and after a little sandpaper and hi temp paint they look better than new. As long as there is no major dents 250 sounds like a decent deal.

nothing wrong with used parts as long as they are inspected properly. It's just up to you if you want to pay $125 more to get new ones.. Not a bad deal either way.

I got some used pacesetters for 230 and they were coated.... 1 of the best used parts I've found, to be honest I don't think I have to many brand new parts on my car....

It all depends on how much your saving, really your only saving around 120 bux, which IMO I would just get new ones. And yea, after time the coating will get a little surface rust and flake off and eventually the header will start to rust. The whole point of the coating is to slow this process down and to help keep underhood temps down
