Default C5 vs, F body water pump ??

Hate to ask a dumb ??? ,, is there a difference in the pump's ??? Or is it just the position of where the belt runs on the pulley ??? I know the f-body alt bracket is 5/8" out further, and has to be machined back,,, Any info ??

I know when I had the dealer install a new pump under warranty it look the same but was different. I didn't know this until I tried to reinstall my 160 thermostat and it wouldn't come close to fitting. So I had to order one to be used with the newer design water pump. The c5 and gto one.
