that was a good joke.
and you are just going to ignore the graphs that show no gains? that makes a ton of sense. if you are going to mess with your TB go 90mm. well unless you have WAY more time than money and are just bored and have nothing else to do. and i mean nothing

Precisely. Any butt-o-meter that can't tell the difference is in serious need of a recalibration.

I went from a stock TB on my '02 (so LS6 intake just so everyone is sure) and put on a Shaner S2. And just like EVERYONE said, the top end is increased, the throttle response is a hell of a lot better, and my car starts to pull a lot harder a lot sooner than it did. I let a friend drive it, that has drove it before without telling him the S2 was on there, and he noticed it and asked me what was up with the car. That proves its worth it to me, and hopefully to anyone else.

look at the tech stickys at the top of this forum. A very good write-up is in there on the 2nd page of the Induction thread I believe.

yes, because they're VASTLY out numbered. also, the ones that do show small to no gains are mostly due to temperature, humidity, A/F ratio and other various differences. i don't understand why you post on this forum. the only time i ever see you post is when you're hating on something, like just today your numerous posts in the GMMG thread. it's a FACT that a ported throttle body shows gains on an LS1.

yes, that's exactly the point. what's the point of having an LS1 if it's no fun to drive? i could have a 10 second car but if it sucks to drive, why would i want it?

Did you read my second post, which is two posts above yours?

If 8 rwhp is a waste of time, then so is a lid, and so is an underdrive pulley, and a catback, and hell, an LS6 intake only gives you 10 or so, it must be a waste too.

I noticed a SOTP difference when Bo White did my TB on my Z. I dropped time at the track too. Could I have gone with a 90mm? Sure could've but yeah, $300+ and a waste of time on a bone stock motor? Suuuuuuuure.

I ported mine for free and it has much better throttle response... I took a BUNCH of material off of it though and it didn't have the lip on it that it had before...

different gears, not to mention i only had half the mods i have now and it was the middle of the summer when i ran that time. i can't make it off the line with 2.73's, but if you notice, i still trapped higher than you. that means if you negate the 60ft, my time is much higher catback only. what does that mean? if we start out rolling at 10-15 mph, i'd beat you...back then, before my mods now. as for now...well, you know how that goes

So wait? Instead of spending ~$75 bucks to have your tb ported for a good ~8rwhp.

You recommending a ~$1200 intake setup? lol

**** you....hahah

I noticed i diference when i ported my stock TB with the dremel i got for christmas so it was FREE HP. I noticed a gain even though it was the first thing i've ever ported, so i can only imagine ehat an experienced porter could do. If anything my TB looks great now and I did it, and i feel a difference. Granted thiswas after a cam so my gains are more than you'd see on a stock LS1 but it was still well worth the few hours i spent in the garage on a rainy day
