dynos lie. is your A/F ratio the same on both dyno runs? what about the temperature? what about the humidity?

i'd be willing to bet either your A/F ratio is less ideal, or you dynoed the 404 on a much cooler day than the 406. don't forget, a 10 degree drop in temperature is worth 1% horsepower. since you're dynoing at ~400rwhp, you should have over 450 hp at the crank. if you dynoed on a day 20 degrees hotter, that's a 2% or 9rwhp difference on the dyno. that means your ported throttle body is actually worth 11rwhp with the hypothetical temperature difference factored in.

your ported throttle body is NOT worth 2rwhp. it's worth several times that. what you have is the temperature and A/F ratio making your dyno numbers lie.

it all depends on what you have it hooked up with also....with a ported tb on a stock ls1 manifold it wont show as much gain as with a ls6....

It was a cooler day and I made 411 but my tuner said that when he "corrected it" (some math formula to allow dynoes to be about equal on different days) it was 406 up from 404.... and yes I have an ls6 intake.

Did somebody already post: THAT'S WHAT CORRECTION FACTORS ARE FOR!

No two dynos, especially on different days, or even the same dyno on different days... is going to deliver the exact same readings. I'm not saying that. But correction factors are going to make things close enough for valid comparisons. When a minor tweak, like P&P a TB, it's going to be hard to tell what it gained because you are talking about just a handfull of RWHP anyway.

who gives a crap how much power it gives you, as long as it helps drop a .1 or gain a MPH is what really matters.

ported TB a waste of time. let's all forget about the many, many graphs showing ~8rwhp gains, let's forget about the proven track results, let's forget all about the increased throttle response. we'll remember this one erroneous post with a dyno graph likely plagued with error due to temperature and A/F ratio being off.

that was a good joke.
