and coming from a friend with the regular cme tips, the center part that holds them together breaks fairly often
Only when it's handled by the the Hulk. I've had mine off the car and reinstalled three times and it's fine. As to it being restrictive, it's not. My cutout was only worth 5rwhp over my CME and corsa muffler.

You can also see with my tips that SLP included extra bracing towards the end of their production to prevent this...my old tips only had the one little tab holding them together.

I was wondering if having the extra bends (from muffler--->CME) change the sound of exhaust? For ex. I have Hooker exhaust and want CME Tips. Is this possible to do keeping my Hooker?? and if so, does it change the sound?

I dont mean to hijack thread...I can start another if needed

Thanks all

Im starting to think this aswell. On camaros, the "no tips" look is so much cleaner looking than any other tips setup...EXCEPT the CME. Im getting ready to just do away with my tips, then when I win the lottery, Ill buy a CME setup

Before I went with the dual setup I showed earlier in this thread, I had a Hooker system on my car, tied in to the CME. At first, I had to wait about two or three days before I could actually get the tips tied in, so I had to drive around without them on. Once I got them on, the tone got a little deeper, a little quieter (but really not much), and a little smoother.

That's really all I can say on the matter though, and I certainly didn't have any sound clips of it since it was so long ago.

The CME wouldnt be hard to replicate. with some fabrication you could have a CME tip but the valence would be the hard thing to replicate./
