Default exhaust hitting

Have a probablem with the intermediate pipe hitting against the floorboard of the car. Haven't figured out how to fix it yet?? Hate to move it though, tucks up nice. Need some kind of cushion???

Was thinking high temp hose on a hose clamp??

SLP Headers and offroad y-pipe with magnaflow exhaust.

Thanks

Just installed headers and I've got the same problem. I just ordered Mufflex's Y-Pipe "Bump Stop" Hanger and I hope that fixes it.

My catback hits the car over the axle. Did just like you said and took a section of hose and ran a hose clamp thru it and tightened it around the pipe. No more rattles.

+2 I have both F'in problems!! I have SLP headers ORY and it bangs around like a SOB. It weird if I give it gas and make a right turn you can hear somthing hitting the floor boards. If I rip on it in first it bangs around and does a little in second after I get through spinning it. And clunks into third. MY catback is also banging around. Any quick fixes? You have the same problems?

Thats my problems, all of them. Figured I'd work one problem at a time. The bump stop hanger looks like a good start.

Where would you get the hose, how much heat?

Home Depot....not much.

That's just a temporary fix though as far as I am concerned. When we put my headers on, I had the rubbing on the driver side on the usual spot. So we tried the hose, and it held up for like 3 weeks or so before it melted and become less effective.

The mufflex thing eventually solved my Y pipe banging problem...together with a 2x4 and a jack....lol. We had to cut the hanger apart though and turn it around and reweld it, since it was supposed to attach to the pipe exactly where the rear O2 bung is.

I am surprised you have clearance issues with the I pipe, never heard much of a problem with one of those.

I had this same problem. I went to Home Depot and bought Sheet Metal Tape. The kind with holes in it. I cut off three strips. One that I wrapped around the main pipe just before the crossmember. Then I did the same thing to the pipe after the crossmember. Then I took a third strip and connect one end to the front wrap around and bolted the two together. Then I took the oppostie end and bolted it to the wrap after the crossmember. I took 2 bolts, 2 washers, and 2 nuts. Essentially, I used the third strip to tighten the pipe up against the crossmember. This way it wouldn't rattle against the floor board or the crossmember. Basically, I strpped it tight against the crossmember.

I used the Mufflex hanger and it stopped all my banging.

I used a prybar to gain about 1" of clearance from the floorboards at the closest point to the pipe and put a exhaust hanger rubber in between the pipe and the floorboard. My y-pipe also hit on my Spohn adjustable TA.

Then I installed the Mufflex hanger and adjusted it to hold the y-pipe. I removed the exhaust rubber and the problem was gone for good.

Here's my mufflex solution for the y hitting the driver side floor.

I also used a stainless steel ziptie to keep the rubbers together so they won't slip off.

I just put mine on the lift today and I fixed the over the axle problem, it was hitting on the tank, and I pried and put a piece of rubber underneath the floorboard and y. Im gonna have to get one of the bump stops I guess because I know its going to melt. the over the axle part cut and re welded to get it off. I already have some surface rust on my headers....ceramic coated to.
