All combos will react differently to different mods, the only true way to know if it will help you is to try it. The old school guys have been doing this for ever and have gotton good results from it. Most of the guys running 3" true dual set ups have over killed there needs. I would say if your not at least dipping into the tens dont waist your time with a set up like this.

Matt D - thanks for the info which was relevant to the question I had in my original post - and that some failed to consider before flaming. It sounds like for my race set up, using bullet mufflers and turndowns off the headers will yield a nice hp pickup over my current set up (2.5" y-pipe and Borla catback).
