Headers Question
Headers Question I have been looking to get some headers for my LT1. My question is whats the difference or which is better when it comes to some ofthem go straight into a Y pipe and some of them (mac) that i seen, run with 2 seperate tubes back quite a ways. Also was wondering the advantages and disadvantages of long tubes or short tubes, which one is best for the price and what the differences are. Thanks guys!
long tubes unless you got emission then you go mids. Longtubes have the best flow, and scavenging effects. shorties such period, and mids arent to great but are better than nothing if you cant pass emission with the LT's.
He's talking about an LT1, in which case shorties aren't exactly a waste of time (considering the stock manifolds are dog ****, unlike the LS1 stockers), neither are mids. I know people make great power on shorties and mids on LT1 cars, not to mention good ground clearance and install ease. If I were you and had a good deal on mids or shorties, I'd consider it, or else find some pacesetters (have fun with the install). Good luck.
