Default Exhaust for a full size chevy?

I am putting a 6litre/4L80E combo in a '70 Impala and I am wondering what kind of headers will fit. Does anyone have an idea? I would prefer long tube headers but realize I may have to go with whatever fits; I do not think I can afford to have headers custom-made. I have heard that headers for a Chevy Big Block are not that different from headers for an LS engine (basically that cutting/replacing the flange to adjust the distance between the exhaust ports of the cylinder heads would do it). Is this true, is this a route I should investigate?
Also, does anyone know if manifolds from a Corvette (which flow pretty well) would fit?
Thanks for any input!
