Ram Air as in you have the WS6 car? I'd go with a lid first, maybe the FTRA or SSRA later down the line.

Debaffling your hood helps but not that much. The ram air scoops on late model cars sit far too low on the hood line to be seeing any high speed/high pressure air. There is a boundry layer of air that is created which goes over the hood off of the front bumper and then catches the base of the windshield. That is why during the muscle car days, manufacturers switched to cowl induction.

The only way to make a forward facing hood scoop work is to raise it a lot off the hood (like NHRA cars). The FTRA will make more power, better fuel economy and better throttle response than any hood. Buy a hood for the looks, not any perceived performance other than weight savings.

exactly the right answer...check out a pro-stock car to see what he means...get the FTRA/SSRA and a lid and call it a day
