Come on man, stop being so childish. your 37, you should be much more mature.
Just fess up and tell everyone you don't really know what you're talking about. And do you have anything to say about my other post, with the txt I put in bold, or are you just going to insult my sig some more?

Because unless the filter was damaged there is no way the turbo was sucking enough air to rip the filter. It was also an isolated incident and in order for you to not sound silly for making ridiculous claims towards k&n because you want to justify your paying for a $40 air filter that is no better then a $10 fram.

But you only sound more silly saying a turbo sucked hard enough to rip a paper filter lol.

Dude, my speedo actually works, unlike your bullshit filter. And the research I've done over time makes your knowledge and most people here look like the same dirt thats getting through your K&N filter.

Jesus Christ, I feel stupider for reading this thread. It's like you're all a bunch of five year olds.

Quicken, you act like a K&N Filter crept up and killed your child or something. Chill out, it's not that big of a deal.

The only one in this thread who has at least TRIED to be mature while making a point is 300bhp/ton.

-The million mile warranty is a gimmick, I think we all know that, unless you perhaps drive a diesel.

-I know about how cotton weave and paper have similar flow numbers WHEN CLEAN, but everything changes when they get dirty. Flow numbers mean dick to me anyway, I take my filter out at the track. A hypothetical 5 or so lost horsepower isn't going to mean jack on the street.

-The "constant" (about once a year ) cleaning doesn't bother me, especially when you consider that I'd be replacing filters left and right if I used paper, considering that I have a sealed airbox and FRA.

-When properly cleaned and sealed, K&N Filters don't contaminate the MAF or let dirt past due to sealing issues. Mine fits better with my lid than a paper filter.

-Some people choose to run K&N simply because they want to, not brand loyalty, not quoted horsepower gains. What's it to you if they want to "contaminate their engine". I haven't seen any hard evidence that using a K&N causes significant extra wear to my engine. All I have to go on is what you've heard/read/seen. Seems kinda like all the propaganda that K&N puts out to me.

-If you think that your little rant will keep people from using the filters you are sadly mistaken. You've made your point and said your piece, now why not let everyone else decide what to do with THEIR car.

I swear to God if I was a moderator, there would be some thread-locking going on around here...

Thats because the oil in the filter is also good for anti-knock.

That's not exactly true, there is is a LOT of data available on the internet for those interested in reading up on it. I did, over a year ago and time and time again the same conclusions where drawn. Oiled cotton weave filters are overall pretty poor performers and expensive.

Remember the primary purpose of any air filter is to FILTER

Which the k&n isn't particulary good at when compared to other filter types/materials.
