Arrow which intake do i need

Hey guys, need some help. I have an '04 Tahoe with a 5.3. I want to put the fast 90mm intake on it, but I'm not sure if it will bolt up. It is a GENIII engine so you would think that all ls1 parts would bolt up to it. I have people telling me that it's like FORD and that the parts are just barely different from the ls1 to everything else. This is gonna go on my patrol truck, me being a cop, cause I'm tired of taking 1.5 miles to catch someone. Let me know what ya'll know. Thanks.

If I ever pass through Burleson I'll be on the lookout for a white unmarked Tahoe

Your district/precinct/county lets you modify your vehicle? Do you have to do anything special to get permission to do so? Seems like a lot more guys would mod their Crown Vics if it was acceptable at more precincts. I know I would if I was a cop. True duals and lt's on a 4.6 Crown Vic

a FAST intake on a stock motor is a huge *** waste of time.

you should start out with exhaust, long tube headers and true duals for maximum performance. then you should start thinking about a stall converter, it will turn your truck inside out, no joke, it would probably cut your 0-60 time nearly in half. after you have headers and a stall. an LS6 intake would probably be your next mod. then after you have all that look into a cam and lastly heads THEN come back and think about a FAST.

and to answer your question.. you would need get an LS1 water pump because it has a lower profile. the truck intakes TB sits up much higher than the LS1s. after you switched your water pump you could then use a LS1/6 or FAST intake

well since i own the truck, they can't tell me what i can or can't do to it. now the city vehicles, you would first have to justify the mod to your sgt., then your lt., then, your captain, then your assistant chief, then the chief, and even then, they probably won't let you do it. county cars, you would have to go through the same process except for a chief and assistant chief, you have constable and chief deputy and sheriff and chief deputy, after you go through all that crap, you now get to go to comissioners court and justify the mod to all the commissioners, these guys are dicks, they controll how much money you get each year and just about everything else. the only thing they can't do is tell us what to do as police.

hmm.. well IMO your best option since you own the truck is to sell it

then somehow aquire a Trailblazer SS, you can get a new one with no options for around 30k.

put some headers and an intake on it and you have a very solid 12 second truck.

when i bought the tahoe, they had a trailblazer ss for 36k. all wheel drive. i just couldn't justify it to myself. i olny payed 16k for the tahoe. i figure i can put 20k in the tahoe and spank the hell out of the trailblazer.

honestly... it would be close.. bone stock they have been known to get into the 13s. your 'ho is probably a 17 second truck..

16k isnt bad for a 'ho. does it have a 6.0 (on an unrelated note, that rhymes). if you have the 6.0 heads and a cam will really wake that motor up.. and would be in the $4,000 range.

Heads/Cam/FAST.... I bet that would wake that motor up quite a bit!

ls6 intake and headers would make a world of difference on that 5.3.
