Default Anyone making 400+RWHP or 118+MPH at the track through cats/mufflers?

I'm curious how many people have actually dynoed 400+RWHP through a complete exhaust w/o using the cut-out or open headers. Secondly, how many people have achieved or bettered 118+MPH at the track through a complete exhaust system? Please let us know your set-up.

I dyno'd over 400 thru the muffler. I don't have cats, though.

I also ran 12.40's at 118 with a stock motor, TTS LT's and cats, Flowmaster catback(completely closed), and a 100 shot of dry N2O. Stock 3.42 gears, M6 and a weak 60ft. Also dynoed over 400rwhp and 500ish rwtq.

Now with H/C and still closed catback but no cats I run well into the 120mph and the 11 sec. range and my fuel system is not up to par. I need more injector and fuel pump. Still weak 60 ft times due to the car being setup for handling not drag racing.

I'm sure if I had cats on the car I could still pull over 400rwhp and do around 119-120mph traps. But that's all speculation and I am not gonna put cats on it if i don't have to

I ran 124 mph through dual 3 inch cats and 3 inch int pipe with dynomax muffler. Dynoed 460RWHP @ 5200rpm and 455RWTQ with 400RWTQ from 3600rpm and up.

My car dynos around 435 rwhp thru the FLP cats and thru the SLP catback. I've run a best of 11.38 @ 123 with that setup, on Nitto drag radials (pure street form ). That wasn't very fun either, talk about spinning!

Mods on website.

Hey, thanks 35thss & 99 Black Bird T/A for the positive feedback and thanks to all for the excellent data.

Smoke_ur_5.0, your set-up looks just like what I'm after! And honestly, I'll bet your car could pass a tailpipe sniffer without the CATs. Very nice numbers

Chris ARE 360 & Nine Ball, thanks for publishing your numbers, this is exactly what I was interested in even though I don't plan on enlarging my LS1 (just yet anyway!). Tony, what would your car run on non-DOT tires out of curiosity?

I hope to finally get serious with my LS1 now that it is running fairly well. I just received my B1 cam courtesy of the GP (thanks Tony!), an LS6 intake should be here this week along with an ASP crank pulley, all of which will be installed over the Christmas Holiday. I also bought a long tube SBC G-body 1-3/4" stepped to 1-7/8" header kit that I will modify to fit the LS1 exhaust ports and hope to use a 3.5" down to a 3" "X" pipe feeding 3" duals to see how close I can strike to 400RWHP w/o headwork. I know this is a bit large but with heads in the future, I know it will be fine. What's cool is that 2 out of the 4 primary tubes will fit the LS1 exhaust flange w/zero mods per side This header kit cost me a whopping $159 from Schoenfeld so wish me luck! I hope to have the first set of LS1 stepped longtubes for about $200 since I have my own welder (bought the exhaust flanges for $40/pr.)!

Thanks again all!

You also need a rear so you can launch that car instead of babing it all the way down the track.
