I have seen 105 lb chicks that say it is uncomfortable back there....I can imagine 300#'s.

If you keep as is,, what about getting the car inspected? I'm not sure of CA's inspection and how thurough it is, but in TX i hear it's a problem unless you "know someone".... (never experienced this since i didn't like how loud the dumps were and replaced them)
