Pacesetter headers and off road y run about 500 and if you need cats then its 700. Oh and dont forget o2 sims if the rear o2 havent been deleted and extensions for the front or you can use the o2 sensors from a vette bosch number 13111 i think.

pacesetters have no fitment issues and are nearly perfect. so i dont know what in the world you are talking about.

Are there any fitment issues with the XS's? What Y pipe do you use?

I havent gotten to install mine yet. From what other people have said they fit pretty well. Ive heard some people on here talking about using a Jet Hot Y pipe. Im putting the TSP Rumbler duals on with the XS headers so I didnt really look at Y pipes. If youre thinking of going the dual route though cws T/A says its a breeze to get on.

Well, I am not completely decided yet. Thunder racing is having a 10% off sale this weekend. So the QTP set-up is way cheaper now. I will end up getting their catted ypipe too because I like the flowmaster collector that is on there. Also, should I really go for the headers w/ air. Because I know the air is mostly useless anyways. But it seems really hard to uninstall.

if your are dealing with thunder racing stick with them. they will answer all of your questions. another good one since you mentioned texas is Texas Speed. a lot of guys have usefull information here but it as you have seen can get confusing with so may choices. Research and buy from a reputable supplier who is not just a parts changer. Looks like you have done well so far.
Good Luck
ps: my only confusion on your set up wa that i thought you said you already had dual exhaust. true dual exhaust does not have a Y pipe. so i guess it is duals after the Y pipe.

Yeah, He has aftermarket flowmaster dual exhaust. I would like him to go true duals but I think that would be too much right now. If he wants it later, which I know he will, then he will get it.

Should I buy the headers with Air or just no emmisions? Is there any real benefit to the Air? I am torn. Can you pass inspection in Texas w/o it does anyone know?

Now that I know that I will still need to get him a catted Y, I don't want to go overboard. He is not exactly the Flashy type of guy either. He like to shock the hell out of people. Okay, so I am seriously thinking about the Jet Hots Coated LTs with the TSP Catted Y w/ the High Flow Magnaflows (We don't live in an extremely cold area and never will; he still wants to be mostly street legal when we go home to Texas). I read that the Jet-Hots are a refined version of the Hookers. Should I spend a little more for the Hookers or not? Also, I know that headers can make a car loud. He has a cutout right now that gives a nice sound when he idles but really roars when he gets on it. Will a cutout make any difference with these headers? Should I get it or not? I want to keep his car at a low roar. How can I keep it that way with headers?

I can't believe how much I have learned about headers lately! Before the past few days, I wouldn't have been able to tell you what they look like or where they are.

Here's another vote for the American racing headers... they are stainless steel ... INCLUDING THE Y PIPE.....and they tuck up real real nice.

I bought mine from here:

With the AIR removed ,race style header and 2001+ Ls6 intake it will have a clean factory look under the hood for passing inspection . Only the trained eye would know somethings missing . 2nd option is to take it to a hillbilly inspection shop were they could care less , as long as your giving them buisness .
