NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, that's not the only way. Get a couple exhaust hanger bands, the kind with the holes punched in them and wrap around each pipe and secure with a nut and bolt. Not visible from the rear and it tucked my single slash tips up to within a 1/4" of the rear fascia. Nice and tight!!

Depends how it was installed. If the joints were welded together than you will have to have it cut and rewelded to adjust it. In which case I'd rather just bend it with the jack. If the joints are just held together with the clamps then you can loosen the clamps and adjust it some, but they will eventuallly just fall back where they were unless you get the joints spot welded.

You could take it to an exhaust shop and tell them to fix it. Probably be worth it considering the time it'll take you to get it how you want it yourself. You might be at an exhaust shop for 20 minutes.
