Default Solution to FRA IAT problems

After adding an auto trans cooler, my IAT's were sky high. To maintain the FRA enhanced intake area, drill 1 3/8 in. holes through lower airbox floor and through the hollow brace. Fill the FRA cutout area with insulating material to lower IAT's over the stock setup. Overall result, lower IAT's and increased intake area.

Increased intake area vs the stock slot opening. Better insulation from radiator heat. Figure it out.

Not criticizing, but I just wanted to ask if and how you verified the decrease and under what circumstances. I'm am looking into the same thing, and just wanted to verify before I cut holes into the structure that holds the front of the car together. Again, no negative intent.

If the front of your car falls off then you definately will have lower iat's with all that air coming thru.
