we used a rachet and some extender tools to get the bolts from the back of the engine. Also took off the pass. side coil pack. We did have a full car lift. Once you get the stockers off..its cake

ohh and u may want somebody to hold the pass. side header from underneath while you get a couple bolts started.. they like to slide right out, and it sounds like you have the hardest part done..

did you break any extensions? (i twisted the top off of 3 of them when i was taking the cats off of the exaust manifolds)

1/4" drive air ratchet. I can remove every single header bolt with it.

I always use/recommend anti-sieze on the bolts as well, easier to re-tighten then re-tap. Check out the stickies, more than a few writeups in there.

No loc tite on anything, and dont forget the anti-sieze on the spark plugs. I used it on my bolts too. Get some gear wrenches if you aren't blessed with an air ratchet...

dont round off any bolts. if you start to round one off stop and go buy one of the stripped bolt removers, they bite into the bolt and allow you to get them off. but they still need some flat surface to bite into.

The night before you attempt this it would be best to SOAK (sp) every bolt you need to remove in kriol/wd-40/kyjelly/astroglide. actually do it a couple times before you attempt it. Those rusty bolts are a bitch.

Not bad me and a member here did mine last weekend. The biggest prob we had was gettin the dipstick out. The only other prob was wiggling the Y-pipe into the existing exhaust. Its not bad at all. Here is a pic of my car. You have to get the car about this height

Alright i got mine on tonight, you'll prolly need atleast 5 hours, I have came to a concluision that if you can change spark plugs on a ls1 you can change out headers. The final result is awesome, fit great tucked away really nice, i have pacesetter LT's and there ORY on a gmmg cat back and it sounds mean not too loud at idle but at WOT people will be calling cops! good luck and thank you to everyone on here also.

For best installation of any new header i would recommend a new set of stock MLS gaskets and a set of ARP header studs.

You think its hard on an LS1?
LT1's can fight back.
