Do a little homework and some math. An average header install time is going to be 5-8 hrs, based on what I have read. 500/5=$100 per hour 500/8=$63.5 per hour. If you think that is worth it then you should be smacked. If you dont have the tools to do it $500 is way more than enough and you will have them for later projects. Just do it yourself and save the money.

5 to 8 hours for install??? Maybe if you doing it on jacks in your front yard. But IF the shop knows what they are doing and they have a lift it shouldnt take that long at all! My buddy that i paid did it in less than 2 hours..and we were drinkin the whole time and taking little breaks

they usually charge 50-70 an hour around here, but it should not take a mechanics shop with hours apon hours of experience, all the tools, and a lift 8 hours... should be 4 hours MAX...

if you dont feel comftable (i cant spell at the moment) doing it yourself and you need a shop to do them, i think 200-300 would be a more realistic price...

I thought my 5-8 hr guess would start a little fire. But that only makes it worse. Lets say it takes them 3 hrs to do it. 500/3= $167 per hour. INSANITY

75 an hour is about a going rate for shops around the DFW, Texas area. But if it takes 5-8 hours for them to do a header install with a lift...that is what is insane.

Pay me 500 bucks, I'll do it! LOL! I'll use the base lift and their tools for $4/hr and do it for about 8-10 hours. Cha-ching, mod-money wasted, IMO.
