People lost alot of mpg with a catback too. I think a majority of it is because the exhaust sounds better. lol

Hahaha, true. I think my car sounds badass with my cutouts open. IMO it doesn't seem as loud as people think. Maybe because I had my cutout welded at the end of my ipipe where it curvs up over the axle. Cause when it was under my car I had alot of vibration but now it acts as a turndown pipe woohoo.

Hows it going everyone, for the ones who had the same problem as me the only solution is to get a tune man. I got a tune this weekend and my gas mileage was back up to normal if not better. The basic tune obsolutely did the job, get it done guys and saving money on gas will pay for the tune itself.

A good tune would most definitely give you mpg's back

yes..for the front 2...these have a wider heat range apparently..13111 Bosch Rear Vette 02's are what people on this board recomended to me to use when I installed the headers...no SES light.

I hope all these MPG's are in the city. I get around 380-400 on the highway, and around 240-260 in the city with LT's, ORY and 3.42's

this has nothing to do with the question over the headers but...JUSTIN00SS, i got a letter from gm the other day that said my car was one of the years that there were a certain number of faulty cats on the passenger side. its not a recall for all of them but if yours goes bad, gm will get the bill. sux that you already replaced it though

i get just over 200 or so with 12 gallons... our cars have 16.1 gallons so thats like 266 with lt's, ory, plenty of exhast leaks and a diiirty air filter... like a year overdue of being cleaned, lol. That'll cut it down a bit. Thats on my stock tune.

I typically get around 300 miles or so on a tank. Which is mixed with city and highway miles!

i will look into these. Even though i have HP Tuners to turn off the SES light, can the Bosch's still benefit me in anyway????

Are you talking about freeway miles or city? Straight up freeway miles I'll go over 300 easy but my driving is more like 5 miles distances.

How's it going everyone, just wanted to bring this thread back up really quick. After I did my tune my gas mileage seemed to go up but still wasn't where it was before I did the LT install. I have been getting a ticking sound which I thought was an exhaust leak or bad plugs. I went ahead and changed all the plugs except for the 8th one because I couldn't get to it at the time. But I was still getting the ticking sound and bad gas mileage so I thought it was an exhaust leak.

I never got around to checking it out because I have been so busy and have another car to drive. But just this past Friday at my automotive class I brought my car in and changed out the 8th plug with a new one. I couldn't believe it, the ticking sound completely went away and my car is holding up the gas now. So it turns out that my 8th plug was bad the whole time which was giving me bacefire at wot.

Well just wanted to share this with you guys, now I have been wanting to drive my car more since I fixed that damn problem, woohoo.

yea man that last plug is always a bitch. i have gotten good results getting it from under the car with a 3" extension and a cheater pipe on the handle of the wrench. it was giving me a horrible misfire for a while, finally changed it and shazam. it's amazing what a little tlc will do for any car

Yeah I know bro, if I took care of that months ago I would have saved a hundred or two dollars worth of gas. Cause I was losing rougly about 50-70 miles per tank.

I would sell a limb for that kind of mileage again. I am lucky to see 190 these days.
