Tune?
I just installed LT's and I think I need to have my car tuned. If I get a mail order tune where they just tune a computer and send it to me would this be very effective or just a waste of money? I'm not throwing any codes or anything i'm just doing it for the performance and hopefully a little better gas milage.

Ive been driving with LT's for over 7 months without a tune, waiting for the cam install, IMO the mail order tunes are garbage b/c EVERY car is different, just get it right the first time and get a dyno tune but if your thinkin about a cam wait til you get the cam

After my Header and ORY swap, I got a tune. My car first dynoed 305, after the tune I dynoed 334. So yes, a tune is always good. You could take a bone stock car from the factory to get a tune and gain HP. It wont hurt anything, but you would be leaving some power out there. Just my .02

If I was you, I'd have them reset the fans, delete rear O2's and AIR, then throw in a 160* stat...... if you plan on sending it in....

I don't plan on doing anything such as a cam for a good while...I just wanted to get everything I could out of the car like it is untill I get a cam/heads which will be a while. I would love to go get a dyno tune but I don't think there is anywhere close around here to do it.

I checked texas speed and there 225 a little to high for a mail order tune if you ask me. Would a dyno tune be alot better than a mail order tune? How much do they usually cost?

Yeah the only is that I think thats where you have to send in your computer. Wait 4 me performance sends you a tuned computer 150 and you keep your stock one. So no down time.

"2. $150 and i just send you a computer and you get to keep your stock one! It comes with the tune and Updates for life are Free!" Thats what the guy at Wait 4 Me Performace sent me. Not sure but it seems like a pretty good deal.
