Has anybody else had problems with the lid staying in place with the SLP bellow? It is pretty stiff and seems to cause the tabs on the passenger side to pop out of the base every now and then.

I tried all of them, went back to stock acordeon style. I have a Volant system and the stock one is the one that fits the best.

That's what I thought too when I first did mine. Give it time. It will crack.

If you think about why the factory comes with the accordian style, it's because the motor moves around on its mounts, but the lid assembly is bolted in place. So the accordian style is to take into account the movement of the engine. It makes sense that if you stiffen up that connection, something's gotta move, unless you have poly motor mounts.

I wouldn't chance it with the Fernco. Either pay the $50 for the SLP now, or pay the $100 later for the cracked lid.

FWIW, I ran the stocker on my 10 second Cam only car without a problem.

If you TRIM the damn fernco you will not have a prob. if ya get the damn thing and slap it on there then YES you might have some issues.Take the time trim it and FWIW if your engine moves that much to cause the cracking something else needs work
